Antique Empire Dresser... Before and After

I have to say when I stumbled upon this piece it took my breath away! I anguished for months trying to decide if I should paint it or restore it to it's original glory. My dear Mum had her very vocal opinion, and I suppose I can expect to languish in hell for what I have done, but I had to make a choice based on what I knew was popular with my clientele. Heaven forbid....I have painted an antique! And might I say, I think it is lovely! Take a look for yourself. On this occasion, I chose CeCe Caldwell's Smokey Mountain Quartz over Vintage White. I very carefully distressed with a wet rag so as to not damage the antique wood. Then I applied the clear and antique waxes and buffed to a matte sheen. I would love to know what you think...
